Unquiet Grave

They exhumed the body of Emmett Till yesterday. The all-white jury that acquitted his killers reportedly did so in part because they couldn't be certain the body fished out of the Mississippi was really Till. Apparently 1955 Mississippi was so awash in the mutilated corpses of black teenagers it was hard to tell one from another.

Unfortunately real justice is not to be had in this world, as the two murderers -- who were later paid $4000 to confess in a Look magazine story -- have since died (though there might have been accomplices who are still alive).
