Defend democracy in the South.

Earlier this month, Nuclear Regulatory Commissioner Stephen Burns visited the site at Georgia Power's Plant Vogtle where Southern Nuclear is building the first new U.S. commercial reactors since the 1970s. The estimated cost for the project has doubled and now stands at $27 billion, which Georgia Power customers are already paying for thanks to a state law — since overturned — that allowed utilities to collect payment before a project is completed.
