ALEC fights coal ash protections on polluters' behalf

April 30, 2012 - Embroiled in controversy for its role in passing "Stand Your Ground", the American Legislative Exchange Council also worked to block federal regulation of toxic power plant waste that's contaminating groundwater supplies across the country -- and it turns out that the group has close ties to major coal ash polluters.

February 9, 2006 - The six new nominees appointed by President Bush for the expanded TVA board appeared before the Senate Public Works Committee yesterday. Their confirmations were expected to sail through the Senate with Bill Frist's steady hand at the helm.
